Trentham and Hanford - Vehicle Criminal Damage reports, Cold Callers, Community Speed Watch, Neighbourhood Watch update and Community updates

I hope everyone is having a nice week and enjoying the sunshine. 

Please find at the end of this e-mail the locations I have patrolled over the last few days and the dates, times and locations of upcoming Police Street Surgeries. 

Crime report – criminal damage – Paddock Rise 

We have received a report of a number of vehicles that have been damaged (scratched), whilst parked in Paddock Rise. The incidents are believed to have occurred on 14/03/26 between 9am – 9:30am (approx). If anyone has any CCTV, Ring doorbell or any other information that may assist our enquiries, please call 101 quoting incident 458 of 14/03/26 – thank you. 

Cold callers 

I have this week spoken to residents regarding concerns over cold callers who have been in Diarmid Rd and Werburgh Dr. 

Werburgh Drive is within a No Cold Calling Zone. 

Should anyone have any concerns regarding cold callers, please contact the Police by calling 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency). Non-emergency incidents can also be reported online at www.staffordshire.police.uk

By reporting these incidents, this will help to ensure that incidents are recorded and responded to promptly, giving us the best opportunity to speak to the cold callers and address any concerns. I am also linking in with Trading Standards when Cold Calling incidents occur.

We do have a number of No Cold Calling Zones across Trentham & Hanford. Where we have zones, there will be these signs on the lampposts…

It is illegal to cold call within these zones and traders must attend an address with a pre-booked appointment only.

Community Speed Watch 

This week the Community Speed Watch team have been out in the area. 

On 17/03/26 the team and I attended Burrington Dr, where 142 vehicles passed through. 

8 were recorded as driving above the speed limit and will be sent warning letters. 

On 18/03/26 the team attended Barlaston Old Road, where 396 vehicles passed through. 

9 vehicles were recorded as driving above the speed limit and will be sent warning letters. 

The exceptional work that the Community Speed Watch team do, helps to keep our roads safer for pedestrians and road users and the data they record is sent for the attention of our Road Crime Team. 

We would like to do many more locations, but to achieve this we need more volunteers. If you would like to take part in Community Speed Watch or would like more information about it, please reply to this message and I will be in touch. 

During the many conversations I have with residents, speeding is one of the most frequently discussed topics. This week residents have contacted me with speeding concerns in Boma Road and Meadow Lane. If you do have any concerns about speeding in your street, please do report this by calling 101 (non-emergency), 999 (emergency). Non- emergency incidents can also be reported online at www.staffordshire.police.uk. 

Through these reports, it helps to ascertain where our speeding issues are occurring and when. I can then highlight the concerns with a Road Crime Team, to look at future operations in the area. 

Neighbourhood Watch - Update 

Yesterday (18/03/26) myself and a colleague, PCSO Eggleton made a start in placing Neighbourhood Watch signs within some of the new zones created over the last few weeks. Signs were placed on lamposts in Southgate Ave and Camberwell Grove. The signs for the other streets will be put up in the very near future. 

I was asked to create a Neighbourhood Watch Zone for Stuart Avenue. This has now been created and anyone wishing to add their address to this or any of the other zones we have for Trentham and Hanford, can do so by visiting www.ourwatch.org.uk 

It will be a short while before I can deliver the welcome packs to residents in Stuart Ave, but I will keep you updated on this. 

Reports to the Council 

Following seeing this unsafe pavement in Diarmid Road – I have reported this to the Council and was given a reference number (see picture). The report was made through www.stoke.gov.uk 

Bike Found – Canal 

A member of the public has recently found this bike on the canal by Burrington Dr. Should anyone have any information on who the owner might be, please reply to this message - thank you. 

Police Street Surgeries 

So far this week Police Street Surgeries have been completed at Imandra Close, Paddock Rise and Eastwick Crescent. 

TONIGHT (19/03/26) 18:45 -19:00 there will be a Police Street Surgery at Winnipeg Close. 

TOMORROW (20/03/26) 18:45 – 19:00 there will be a Police Street Surgery at Hampstead Grove
